Request for Information - Hamilton Liquid Handling Robot Services   3

The purpose of this requirement is for a comprehensive Preventative Maintenance Service contract that incorporates both hardware and software services for USAMRIID's Hamilton NGS Star Liquid Handling Robot (SN:D922). This is a Government owned item of equipment currently being employed by our Molecular Biology branch which, handles a substantial amount of genomic analysis and time-consuming assays in the ongoing research and development of therapeutics and other disease fighting compounds. The requirements are 1) The contractor must provide preventative maintenance and repair for all hardware within a prescribed timeframe to ensure full operability, and to mitigate potential delays resulting from maintenance shortfalls, and 2) the contractor must provide equipment software maintenance and software updates on an As Needed basis to ensure full functionality and operability of the equipment. The contracted service will be performed at USAMRIID, Fort Detrick, Maryland.

The contract was awarded firm fixed price and sole source to the Hamilton Company, who has proprietary ownership of the software and the equipment needing proper updates/upgrades to the software in order to function properly. The existing software is over due for a software update/upgrade and due to the lack of software matintenance, the equipment has significantly degreaded the instruments functionality. Therefore, the contract has been awarded to Hamiltion Company at a firm fixed price to update/upgrade the equipment's software and hardware back to the proper functionality in order to continue with the Government's mission and accurate management of the equipment.
