Replacement of the Outdated Fire Alarm System, Curtius Annex, U.S. Embassy Berlin, Germany

Background
The U.S. Embassy in Berlin, Germany, is seeking to replace the outdated fire alarm system at the Curtius Annex. The current system has reached the end of its service life and is malfunctioning, necessitating a complete replacement to ensure safety and compliance with Department of State standards.

The goal of this contract is to provide a modern fire alarm system that integrates seamlessly with existing infrastructure and meets local building codes.

Work Details
The contractor shall replace the entire fire panel and alarm system, including extending coverage to the workshop area currently not served by the existing system. Key tasks include:
- Complete removal of the outdated fire alarm system.
- Installation of a new fire alarm system that matches or exceeds existing performance standards.
- Ensuring compatibility with future planned upgrades and compliance with Department of State standards and applicable local building codes.
- Installation must include planning, design, material procurement, cable network installation, and final testing in accordance with DIN 0833-2 and DIN 14675 standards.
- The contractor must provide all supervision, labor, materials, and equipment necessary for the project.

Period of Performance
150 calendar days from the date of Notice to Proceed (NTP).

U.S. Embassy Berlin, Curtius Annex, Curtiusstrasse 64, 12205 Berlin – Steglitz-Zehlendorf, Germany.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must hold valid licenses for relevant trades and comply with bonding requirements. DBA (Defense Base Act) insurance is required for U.S. citizens or residents working on this contract. All subcontractors must also hold current licenses and certifications as required by the Statement of Work.

Bidders must provide proof of authorization to perform work in Germany and demonstrate understanding of local VAT requirements.
