Background
The Albuquerque Area Indian Health Service (IHS), part of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), is seeking to replace the backflow preventer station and rusted water pipes at the Albuquerque Indian Health Center (AIHC) located in Albuquerque, NM.

This project aims to ensure the integrity and functionality of the potable water services provided by the facility, which is serviced by the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority (ABCWUA). The contract will be awarded under a cascading set-aside for Indian Small Business Economic Enterprises (ISBEE) as per the Buy Indian Act.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for providing all labor, supervision, materials, tools, supplies, transportation, barricades, signs, traffic control measures/coordination, and equipment necessary for the replacement of the backflow preventer station and rusted water pipes.

The scope includes:
1. Replacing the entire above-grade piping, fittings, valves, and backflow preventer at AIHC.
2. The work involves a 6-inch main water line that enters the AIHC campus from Vassar Dr., transitioning from underground to an above-ground backflow preventer station before going back underground to service multiple buildings. The contractor must verify the size and material of all existing piping on-site prior to commencing work.
