Replacement laser for Renishaw InVia Microscope– Combined Sources Sought/Notice of Intent to Sole Source

***THIS IS A COMBINED SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE AND NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE***

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking information from sources that may be capable of providing a InVia Microscope. If no alternate sources are identified, the Government intends to issue a Sole Source Award to Renishaw, INC (1001 Wesemann DR, West Dundee, IL 60118-940) under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334516.

NIST has a need for one InVia Microscope that meets or exceeds the following draft minimum specifications:

1. Must lase at a wavelength of 532.1 0.3 nm continuously.
2. Must have wavelength stability of < 1 pm over 3 C and 8 hours.
3. Must have spectral purity > 60 dB at 0.5 nm from 532.1 nm.
4. Must have a bandwidth < 1 MHz.
5. Must have a beam divergence of < 1.2 mrad.
6. Must have a beam symmetry at aperture of > 0.95:1.
7. Must have a 250 Hz 2 MHz RMS noise of < 0.25 %.
8. Must provide an output power of 50 mW or more.
9. Must include an integrated spectral filter for side mode suppression.
10. Must be part of and easily incorporated into our existing Renishaw InVia Raman/PL microscope system.

NIST conducted market research from May 2025 through July 2025 by reviewing GSA.gov, speaking with colleagues, performing internet searches, and speaking with vendors to determine what sources could meet NIST's minimum requirements. The results of that market research revealed that only Renishaw Inc. (UEI: RW4LM9C3A8N3) appears to be capable of meeting NIST's requirements.

Submit the response by email to the Primary Point of Contact and, if specified, to the Secondary Point of Contact listed at the bottom of this notice as soon as possible, and preferably before the closing date and time of this notice.

• Details about what your company is capable of providing that meets or exceeds NIST's minimum requirements.
• Whether your company is an authorized reseller of the product or service being cited and evidence of such authorization.
• Identify any aspects of the description of the requirements in the BACKGROUND section above that could be viewed as unduly restrictive or create unnecessary barriers that adversely affect your firm's ability to fully participate in a procurement for such services and explain why. Please offer suggestions for how the requirements could be organized or structured to encourage the participation of small businesses.
