Replace Inner Gate at East Gate

Background
The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), Federal Correctional Institute (FCI) Atlanta, located at 601 McDonough Blvd SE, Atlanta, GA, intends to award a contract for the replacement of the antique swinging East Gate (inner gate).

The goal of this contract is to enhance security by providing a modern gate system that meets current standards and requirements.

Work Details
The contractor will provide all necessary equipment, labor, materials, and incidentals to replace the existing East Gate. Key tasks include:
- Carefully removing and saving both antique gates for storage.
- Fabricating a temporary security gate during the project duration.
- Installing a new wall-mounted service slider type gate with specific dimensions of 18'-0" high and 18'-0" wide.
- Conducting an engineering site visit by Tymetal or an equivalent company to establish details for the custom closed loop beam installation.
- Completing the installation and alignment of a new locking column and replacing the existing gate operator with a new TYM0-VS type or an approved equivalent.
- Ensuring compliance with seismic zone requirements, environmental regulations, Life Safety codes, NFPA standards, ADA-ABA guidelines, and all applicable federal, state, and local codes.

Period of Performance
The estimated period of performance is 153 calendar days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed until project testing and acceptance.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Atlanta located in Atlanta, GA.

Bidder Requirements
Contractors must ensure that all installers/technicians are qualified and certified by the manufacturer to install, test, and certify the security fencing and gate systems. Certification must be submitted to the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) seven days prior to project commencement. All materials must be currently manufactured and available through authorized dealers.
