Replace Chiller # 3 - Pineville, LA - VA (Project No. 502-21-110)   2

Background
The Alexandria VA Medical Center has a requirement to replace chiller 3. Chiller 3 is a non-operational, 650-ton chiller located at the Alexandria VAMC central chilled water plant. The project aims to support VA hospital, pharmacy, residential facilities, employee workstations, and supporting facilities with reliable and easy to maintain chiller equipment.

Work Details
The scope of work includes structural, architectural, mechanical, and electrical tasks. This involves demolition and new work such as installing new HSS steel lintel, reinforcing steel in walls, repairs to existing CMU/brick and floor slab, removal and reinstallation of new chiller 3, installation of new chilled water pump, removal and replacement of piping insulation, demolition of electrical power connected to existing chiller and chilled water pump, provision of new disconnect switches for new chiller and chilled water pump, among other tasks.
The contractor is also required to conduct a thorough survey and investigation of all the work sites for the Chiller #3 Replacement Project before commencing any construction.

Period of Performance
All items outlined in this scope of work are to be completed within 180 days after the issuance of a notice to proceed from the contracting officer.

Place of Performance
The construction project will take place at the Alexandria VA Health Care System located at 2495 Shreveport HWY, 71N, Pineville, LA 71360.
