Repair Dormitory 14, Ascension Auxiliary Airfield (AAAF), South Atlantic Ocean   2

Background
The contract is for the repair and renovation of Dormitory 14, Facility 12144 at Ascension Auxiliary Airfield (AAAF) in the South Atlantic Ocean. The renovation includes reconfiguring shared bathrooms into individual bathrooms for each dormitory room, adding a laundry room and a communications room on each floor, replacing finishes, doors, windows, and the roofing membrane system, as well as environmental engineering for asbestos and lead-based paint abatement.
Additionally, the project involves replacing building systems such as electrical, air conditioning, ventilation, plumbing, fire detection, and adding a new sprinkler system in compliance with UFC requirements. All plumbing lines will be replaced from saltwater to potable water produced by the AAAF Reverse Osmosis.

Work Details
The contractor is required to provide all labor, materials, and equipment for the renovation. The work includes design efforts for the renovation and restoration of Dormitory 14. It also involves replacing building systems such as electrical, air conditioning and ventilation, plumbing, fire detection systems, and adding a new sprinkler system in compliance with UFC requirements. The renovation will also include environmental engineering required to accomplish asbestos and lead-based paint abatement. All plumbing lines will be replaced from saltwater to potable water produced by the AAAF Reverse Osmosis.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this project is 487 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed (NTP).

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed at Ascension Auxiliary Airfield (AAAF) in the South Atlantic Ocean.
