Repair Chilled Water Lines

Background
The project is issued by the Rock Island Arsenal, which aims to repair and upgrade the chilled water lines between buildings 108 and 114. The goal of the contract is to ensure efficient operation of the chilled water system while maintaining safety and compliance with relevant specifications.

Work Details
The scope of this project includes furnishing labor, equipment, and materials to install two 10-inch dual wall preinsulated polyvinyl chloride (PVC) chilled water pipes from building 108 to building 114. This installation will necessitate the removal and replacement of existing pavements in Parking Lot 131A, 2nd Street, Parking Lot 144, and South Avenue. The existing pavements consist of hot mix asphalt (HMA) and portland cement concrete (PCC). Specific construction tasks include:
- Removal of existing PCC pavement and curb in Parking Lot 144 as marked in the plan set.
- Installation of new final pavement consisting of a 4-inch HMA surface on a compacted modified subbase.
- Paving South Avenue with a 10-inch PCC pavement on a modified subbase, including joint reinforcement steel.
- Construction of curbs matching existing dimensions along South Avenue.
- Sidewalk construction adjacent to building 108 with specified dimensions and reinforcement requirements.
- Compliance with the Iowa State Urban Design and Specifications Program (SUDAS) for all civil work.
