Repair and Maintenance Services for Hologic Horizon A Bone Densitometers

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) / National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS)/ Division of Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys (DHNES) intends to award a sole source firm fixed price Purchase Order to Hologic, Inc, of Bedford, MA, for the acquisition of maintenance services for three Hologic Horizon-A bone densitometers. The award will be for a base year and three option years.
This Procurement is for Commercial Items as defined by FAR Parts 2 & 12.
In accordance with FAR 6.302-1(a), Hologic is the only known organization which can provide the proprietary parts and factory-trained service engineers for this equipment. This project is supported by justification for other than full and open competition under authority of 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1).
This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within 15 days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government.
A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
