Repair and Maintenance Service for Histology and Cytology Equipment

Background
The Government is seeking to acquire a full service maintenance contract for histology and cytology equipment at the Naval Medical Center, San Diego.

This contract aims to ensure dependable and reliable operation of government-owned Anatomic Pathology equipment, which is essential for the laboratory's mission.

Work Details
The contractor is required to provide all services, materials, and equipment necessary for the repair and preventive maintenance of the following equipment:

- three (3) cryostats
- four (4) microtomes
- two (2) embedding centers
- three (3) slide stainers
- two (2) tissue processors
- two (2) coverslippers.

The contractor must perform service repair/preventive maintenance to industry standards using fully qualified field engineers and technicians who have undergone OEM or comparable third-party service training. The contractor must ensure timely corrective maintenance by responding to malfunctions within two hours and providing on-site support within one business day. All repairs must restore equipment to a serviceable condition without altering original design capabilities unless authorized in writing. The contractor is also responsible for maintaining parts availability to minimize downtime and must provide written Field Service Reports after each service.

Period of Performance
15 December 2026 – 14 December 2027 with four (4) options for extension.

Bidder Requirements
This opportunity is a Total Small Business Set Aside. Bidders must have a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) credential to access NMCSD facilities. Contractors must employ fully qualified field engineers and technicians with appropriate training certificates for the specified equipment.
