Description

This project will provide the repairs to an existing railroad embankment and underlying culverts at Naval Weapons Station Earle. This project includes compaction grouting of the embankment, repair of sixteen (16) degraded corrugated metal pipe culverts (which will include installation of cofferdams, dewatering activities, and relining). The construction activities will take place adjacent to an active railway owned and operated by the Navy which will require coordination with Navy railroad dispatch and require clearance of rail right-of-way in accordance with the plans and specifications herein.

Background
The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Mid-Atlantic is seeking eligible small business firms capable of performing construction services for the Repair Ammunition Rail Trestle & Culvert at Naval Weapons Station Earle (NWSE), located in Colts Neck, New Jersey.

The goal of this contract is to repair an existing railroad embankment and the underlying culverts to ensure operational integrity adjacent to an active railway owned and operated by the Navy.

Work Details
The project includes the following construction tasks:
1. Compaction grouting of the embankment.
2. Repair of sixteen (16) degraded corrugated metal pipe culverts, which involves:
a. Installation of cofferdams;
b. Dewatering activities;
c. Relining of culverts.

The construction activities will require coordination with Navy railroad dispatch and clearance of rail right-of-way as per the plans and specifications provided.

Period of Performance
The anticipated award of a contract for these services is expected in September 2025.
