Renovate PM Shop and Replace Aluminum Canopy Roof Section   4

Background
The contract is issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and focuses on the renovation of the PM Shop and the replacement of an aluminum canopy roof section. The goal of this contract is to enhance the functionality and safety of the facility, ensuring that it meets current standards and operational needs.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:

1. Pressure washing all asphalt and concrete areas within the project scope, including the maintenance building and vinyl fence.

2. Replacement of gutters and downspouts at the PM shop, with existing roof membrane and drip edge to remain. Adjustments to the existing drip edge will be made as necessary to accommodate new gutters and ensure positive drainage from roof to gutter.

3. Clarification on roofing materials, specifically regarding TPO roofing products which will be reviewed against specification requirements, including Florida and Miami-Dade County product approval requirements.

4. Installation of new drainage piping with a finish to be determined (asphalt or concrete).

5. Addressing design pressures for wind loads on roof materials, specifically for Zone 1 with suction at -79 PSF and pressure at 35 PSF.

6. Review of product substitutions for cementitious sheathing, gypsum board, and other roofing materials against specification requirements.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed at the Department of Veterans Affairs facility where the PM Shop is located.
