Remove/Replace HVAC (RTU)

Background
The project involves the repair by replacement of an existing single packaged Air Handler Unit (AHU) Roof Top Unit (RTU) located at Building 642 on Hancock Field, which is part of the 174th Attack Wing of the New York Air National Guard.

The existing RTU has surpassed its intended life and operates with R-22 refrigerant, which has been banned by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The contractor is required to provide all necessary labor, materials, tools, equipment, supervision, quality control, and project management to complete this project.

Work Details
The contractor shall perform the following tasks:
1. Demolish and dispose of the existing 20-ton RTU.
2. Recover and transport R-22 refrigerant in compliance with regulations.
3. Furnish and install a new Trane Horizon 15-ton RTU or equivalent unit that meets specified dimensions and operational requirements.
4. Ensure all work is performed by certified personnel and includes a 12-month installation warranty on workmanship and parts.
5. Connect the new unit to the Alerton Building Automated System (BAS) for monitoring and control.
6. Conduct testing, balancing, and provide documentation for all work completed.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a period of 180 calendar days.

Place of Performance
All construction activities will take place at Building 642, Hancock Field, Syracuse, New York.
