Region 4/Intermountain Region Prescribed Fire and Support IDIQ   2

Background
The solicitation is issued by the USDA Forest Service for the Intermountain Region (Region 4) to establish a contract for prescribed fire and support services. The goal of this contract is to provide resources and equipment necessary for prescribed burning activities in National Forests within Region 4, which includes various forests such as Ashley, Boise, Bridger-Teton, and others. This initiative aligns with the National Fire Plan and aims to enhance forest management through effective fire practices.

Work Details
The contractor will furnish labor, supervision, equipment, transportation, operating supplies (excluding government-furnished items), and other incidentals necessary for prescribed burning and support services. Tasks may include: conducting various types of prescribed burns (understory, broadcast, hand/machine pile burning), mop-up and patrol operations; preparing for prescribed fires (thinning, pruning, fuels pull back, chipping); constructing or maintaining firelines; providing contingency resources such as crews and equipment; assisting with ignition and holding operations; and rehabilitation efforts post-burn.

The contractor must be prepared to mobilize resources quickly due to short burn windows and may be required to perform work across multiple forests in the region.

Period of Performance
The contract will be executed over a period not exceeding six months in any fiscal year (October-September), with specific task orders defining actual work periods based on burn conditions.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed in the Intermountain Region (Region Four), covering multiple National Forests including Ashley NF, Boise NF, Bridger-Teton NF, Caribou-Targhee NF, Dixie NF, Fishlake NF, Humboldt-Toiyabe NF, Manti-La Sal NF, Payette NF, Salmon-Challis NF, Sawtooth NF, and Uinta-Wasatch-Cache NF.
