Refrigeration Equipment Maintenance and Repair Services

Background
The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) is part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and focuses on understanding the effects of environmental factors on human health. The goal of this contract is to provide qualified personnel for the maintenance, repair, and setup of scientific refrigeration equipment at NIEHS's Research Triangle Park facility in North Carolina.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide preventive maintenance, emergency maintenance, repair/replacement, inspection, and new equipment setups for various scientific refrigeration equipment including environmental chambers, freezers, ultra-low freezers, refrigerators, and ice makers. Specific tasks include:

1. Preventive Maintenance (PM): Systematic testing and inspection to detect discrepancies that could lead to major repairs. This includes cleaning and maintaining equipment per OEM recommendations.

2. Emergency Maintenance: Immediate response to critical malfunctions within two hours of notification.

3. Routine Maintenance: Addressing non-critical malfunctions within one business day.

4. Inventory Management: Monthly reporting of new or additional equipment with details such as manufacturer and serial number.

5. Compliance with a Government-provided Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for tracking PM tasks.

Period of Performance
The contract period is from September 19, 2025, to September 18, 2026, with options for four additional years extending through March 18, 2031.

Place of Performance
Work will be performed at the NIEHS Campus located at 111 T.W. Alexander Drive and the NIEHS Warehouse at 105 TW Alexander Dr., Research Triangle Park (RTP), North Carolina.
