Re-Opening of Road Construction MATOC for Alaska   10

Background
The solicitation is for the re-opening of R10 Road Construction MATOC for Alaska. The scope of the contract includes various types of highway, street, and bridge construction, as well as road and trail construction, culverts, erosion control work, and other related structures. The work may also involve clearing, earthwork, drainage structures, and bridge construction. Individual projects will be packaged with project-specific details that supplement the standard specifications and terms of the basic contract. The work will be carried out at locations within Alaska, including the Chugach National Forest in Southcentral Alaska and the Tongass National Forest in Southeast Alaska. Administrative sites, recreation sites, and other developed sites associated with these National Forests are included.

Work Details
The contract includes a wide range of construction tasks such as new road construction, road reconstruction/restoration, road decommissioning, construction of steel, concrete, and timber road bridges, culverts, erosion control work for roads and stream banks, and other related structures. The major categories of work activities required by the contract include clearing, earthwork, structural embankments, drainage structures, pit/quarry development, aggregate crushing, road base and surfacing, road structure demolition, road structure construction, retaining walls, and bridge construction. The contractor is required to furnish personnel, equipment, tools, materials, vehicles, facilities, supervision and other items necessary for the performance of work set forth in the task order’s Scope/Statement of Work.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for individual projects will be identified per individual project task order.

Place of Performance
The work will be carried out at locations within Alaska including the Chugach National Forest in Southcentral Alaska and the Tongass National Forest in Southeast Alaska.
