Background
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is exploring commercially available alternatives to its current expeditionary tent systems used for the immediate sheltering of disaster survivors. The agency is seeking information on rapidly deployable shelter solutions that can enhance safety, comfort, durability, and operational efficiency in austere and post-disaster environments. Vendors must demonstrate proven capacity to fulfill large orders and meet tight manufacturing and shipping timelines.

Work Details
FEMA requires shelter solutions that meet the following basic requirements:

1. Flooring: Integrated or elevated flooring to reduce flooding, mud intrusion, and moisture damage during prolonged rainfall.

2. Weight: Units should weigh approximately 600 pounds or less for improved transportation efficiency and deployment timelines.

3. Wind & Rain Resistance: Shelters must withstand high winds and heavy rainfall using robust anchoring systems rather than relying solely on ballast.

4. Ventilation: Passive ventilation features (e.g., screened ridge or roof vents) to reduce interior heat while preventing insect intrusion.

5. Security: Lockable entry points and waterproof storage options for occupants' personal belongings.

6. Capacity: Shelters should accommodate a family of five with flexible interior layouts or multiple rooms where practical.

Period of Performance
The period of performance will be determined based on the fulfillment of orders and deployment needs.
