Radio Tower Repeater and Microwave Link Project, U.S. Embassy Dili, Timor-Leste

Background
The U.S. Embassy in Dili, Timor-Leste, is seeking to enhance emergency communications capabilities through the installation of radio tower repeaters and microwave links.

This project aims to support an ongoing Australian-led initiative and is aligned with the National Civil Protection Emergency Plan of Timor-Leste (NCPEP), improving interoperability between U.S., Australian, and Timor-Leste partners.

The project also supports the U.S. Integrated Country Strategy for disaster response and assists Timor-Leste in its pursuit of ASEAN membership.

Work Details
The contract involves the supply, delivery, and installation of emergency communications equipment at up to 16 repeater sites across Timor-Leste. The equipment will generally include:
- Repeaters
- Power sources
- Wireless links
- Multicoupling equipment

Additional costs will cover project management, engineering services, technician services, administrative costs, travel, shipping, and training for personnel at these sites. The project may also include sourcing operations center equipment such as radios, charging stations, surveillance earpieces, and training for radio programming. Options for the repeater sites may involve solar power backup units and GPS enabling capabilities.

The work will be performed at multiple sites throughout Timor-Leste.
