Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically the North Texas Health Care System Pharmacy Service located at the Dallas Veterans Affairs Medical Center, is seeking a contractor to provide same day courier services for the pick-up and express delivery of medications and supplies.

The goal of this contract is to ensure timely and efficient transportation of essential medical items within the North Texas area, supporting the mission of the VA to provide high-quality healthcare services to veterans.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for providing same day courier services from 4 AM to 8 PM, Sunday to Saturday. Key responsibilities include:
- Transporting medications and supplies between various locations within the North Texas area.
- Ensuring all couriers possess valid driver's licenses, vehicle insurance, and communication devices.
- Maintaining liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage for all contract employees.
- Providing training documentation for hazardous medication transport and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Maintaining a record log of all pick-ups and deliveries, including times, dates, and number of containers.
- Notifying the assigned Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) of any unusual events affecting delivery schedules.
- Ensuring vehicles are equipped with spill kits for hazardous drug clean-up and maintaining proper temperature controls during transport.
- Developing contingency plans for emergencies that may impede service delivery.

Period of Performance
The contract period begins on the date of award/effective date and extends through May 31, 2026.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed primarily at the Dallas VA Medical Center located at 4500 S Lancaster Rd., Dallas, TX 75216.
