Description

The need is for Temporary Technical support which shall include on-site personnel to maintain automated equipment systems, such as automatic packaging systems, tote, conveyor systems, and drug dosing machines. Technicians will be required to perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and troubleshoot issues. A minimum of one(1) individual is needed with a potential to add 1 to 2 more should the need arise.

Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP) located in Leavenworth, KS consists of 7 primary sites supporting all fifty states, Washington D. C., Puerto Rico, and US Territories processing over 130 million prescriptions per year. The Leavenworth CMOP weekly production rates for prescriptions are approximately 350,000. The purpose of this requirement is to have one full-time temporary hire technician providing Electrical/Mechanical maintenance support on automated conveyance type equipment on site Monday - Friday with the potential to add 1-2 additional staff should the need arise.

Work Details
The Contractor must provide comprehensive technical support for the VA CMOP in Leavenworth, KS, including on-site personnel to maintain automated equipment systems such as automatic packaging systems, tote conveyor systems, and drug dosing machines. The services needed include preventive maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting issues, and evaluation of system performance for various manufacturers and models of programmable logic controllers (PLCs). The current need is for one full-time equivalent employee (FTEE) with a potential to add up to two additional FTEEs.

Period of Performance
The period of performance is estimated to be from April 1st, 2023 through January 31st, 2024, with an optional period of up to six months if needed.
