Mock Life Safety-Joint Commission Survey   3

Background
The Bay Pines VA Healthcare System, located at 10000 Bay Pines Blvd, Bay Pines, FL 33744, has a requirement for Mock Life Safety-Joint Commission Survey services. This contract aims to support the continuous process improvement and readiness efforts of the VA healthcare facilities, which have been accredited by The Joint Commission (TJC) for over 35 years. The goal is to maintain a constant state of regulatory readiness and ensure a safe healthcare environment.

Work Details
The contractor will conduct a Mock TJC survey at C.W. Bill Young VAMC for two projects:
1) Major Construction Project 516-005 Building 1 Renovation, which involves renovating floors 2-5 of an historic building for PACT compliant primary care;
2) Minor Construction Project 516-349 Construct Dental Clinic, a new building for Dental Service.

The survey will focus on frequently cited standards and high-risk areas such as environment of care and life safety. Key tasks include: conducting a one-day survey using the most recent TJC standards; providing access to facility staff; conducting an exit briefing with leadership; submitting a written report within fifteen working days post-survey detailing compliance findings and recommendations; and ensuring that all survey activities are conducted between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM on the scheduled day.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must demonstrate knowledge of TJC standards, Ascellon standards, and VHA regulations applicable to accreditation bodies. Consultants must have at least three years of surveying experience and possess appropriate qualifications as surveyors/consultants with previous experience serving as TJC surveyors. Previous VA experience is preferred. No substitutions in surveyors will be permitted without prior consultation with the VA.
