The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is conducting market research to determine the availability of qualified small businesses capable of providing work to be performed to sort, dispose of, relocate, and store seismic and paleoseismic acquisition equipment from Menlo Park, California to Moffett Field, California and to repair, maintain, and operate the equipment and vehicles owned by the Earthquake Science Center's Seismic Imaging Group, as described in the Statement of Work attached. This sources sought announcement is not a request for quote or proposal and the Government is not committed to award of a purchase order or contract pursuant to this announcement. The information resulting from this market research is simply for planning purposes to assist the Government in determining its acquisition strategy. The Government will not pay for any costs incurred in the preparation of information for responding to this notice.
The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code - 561990 All Other Support Services, with the associated size standard of $16.5 million apply to this announcement.
All responsible small businesses sources may submit a brochure and/or technical specifications detailing the ability of meeting the requirements in the Statement of Work included with this announcement.

Background
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is conducting market research to determine the availability of qualified small businesses capable of providing work to be performed. The work includes sorting, disposing of, relocating, and storing seismic and paleoseismic acquisition equipment from Menlo Park, California to Moffett Field, California. Additionally, it involves repairing, maintaining, and operating the equipment and vehicles owned by the Earthquake Science Center's Seismic Imaging Group.

Work Details
The contractor must demonstrate a work and skill set that has been important in numerous Earthquake Science Center (ESC) investigations or similar. The tasks include sorting, arranging, and moving more than 40 years of equipment from Menlo Park to Moffett for two groups within the Earthquake Science Center (ESC), maintenance of seismic acquisition equipment, retrieval of USGS Seismic Equipment from eastern Turkiye, and operation, maintenance, and repair of seismic equipment and vehicles.
