Background
Flandreau Indian School (FIS) is a federal bureau operated school under the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Indian Education. Located in Flandreau, South Dakota, FIS serves approximately 100 Native American and Alaska Native high school students from across the nation, representing 48 different tribes.

The school provides a supportive environment for students who reside in dormitories from mid-August until mid-May each year, with a winter break from mid-December to early January. The goal of this contract is to hire a Title I Coordinator responsible for coordinating and implementing support services aimed at improving academic achievement for under-achieving student populations.

Work Details
The Title I Coordinator will be responsible for:
- Coordinating Title I services and ensuring compliance with grant requirements.
- Providing onsite service in a professional manner while respecting students' rights.
- Utilizing assessment instruments to develop teaching programs that reflect behavioral outcomes.
- Updating student collection criteria and procedures for targeted assistance using a tier-based model.
- Reviewing and revising parent/guardian notification materials and distributing them at the beginning of the school year.
- Conducting annual parent orientation meetings and collecting evidence of these meetings by October and February.
- Collaborating with the homeless liaison to identify needs and services for homeless students.
- Ensuring all applicable parent notifications are disseminated effectively.
- Initiating planning processes for new Title I programs and professional development as needed.
- Collecting data on student participation and conducting program evaluations annually.

Base Year: 08/01/2024 – 07/31/2025; Option Year 1: 08/01/2025 – 07/31/2026; Option Year 2: 08/01/2026 – 07/31/2027; Option Year 3: 08/01/2027 – 07/31/2028; Option Year 4: 08/01/2028 – 07/31/2029.
