Background
The purpose of this amendment to the Request for Proposal for Nuclear Industry Advisory and Assistance Services(A&AS)Support is to extend the due date of RFP from 12/3/2021 at 1000 MS to 1900 MS. The Department of Energy's Office of Nuclear Energy (DOE-NE) has a primary mission to advance nuclear power as a resource capable of meeting the nation's energy, environmental, and national security needs by resolving technical, cost, safety, proliferation resistance, and security barriers through research, development, and demonstration as appropriate.

The program is guided by four research objectives: developing technologies to improve the reliability, sustain the safety, and extend the life of current reactors; improving the affordability of new reactors; developing sustainable fuel cycles; understanding and minimizing the risks of nuclear proliferation and terrorism.

Work Details
The contractor shall furnish advisory and assistance services for studies, analyses and evaluations, engineering/technical and facilitation services from members of the nuclear industry. The services will include support for research and development activities for various nuclear energy concepts, used nuclear fuel management strategies and technologies, improving nuclear facility operations, advanced modeling and simulation of nuclear energy technologies, innovative research on nuclear energy enabling technologies, among others.

The contractor shall provide all personnel, facilities, equipment, and support required to perform these requirements. Each task order will describe the type of work to be performed with associated work products or deliverable, the due date of the work product and deliverables, the quality requirements, and any unique requirements for the task order.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract is from 02/07/2022 to 02/06/2027.

Place of Performance
The primary work location will be in space provided by the Contractor. Travel destinations are expected to be the Washington, D.C. area and other locations for meetings and briefings to DOE, and nuclear facilities worldwide in support of technical tours and information exchanges.
