National Heart, Lung, & Blood Institute (NHLBI) Trans-Omics for Precision Medicine (TOPMed) Administrative Coordinating Center (ACC)
Background
The National Heart, Lung, & Blood Institute (NHLBI) initiated the Trans-Omics for Precision Medicine (TOPMed) program in 2014 to enhance scientific understanding of heart, lung, blood, and sleep (HLBS) disorders through genomic research. TOPMed integrates whole-genome sequencing (WGS) and other omics data with clinical and environmental data from various studies, currently encompassing 90 cohort studies and generating extensive omics data from over 200,000 samples. The TOPMed Administrative Coordinating Center (ACC) is crucial for managing this complex initiative, supporting governance structures, tracking data production, coordinating publications, and maintaining the program's web presence.
