Indian Art and Craft Shop Operations RFP   2

Background
The U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI), Office of Facilities and Administrative Services (OFAS), is seeking proposals from qualified individuals or entities to operate the Indian Art and Craft Shop located at 1849 C Street, NW, Washington, DC 20240.

The goal of this contract is to manage the sale of authentic Indian arts and crafts while adhering to applicable federal laws and DOI policies.

Work Details
The selected concessionaire will be responsible for the following tasks:

- Managing onsite and virtual retail operations of the Indian Art and Craft Shop;
- Promoting and selling authentic American Indian arts and crafts;
- Providing cultural education;
- Organizing event programming;
- Ensuring compliance with historic preservation standards;
- Adhering to the Indian Arts and Crafts Act of 1990 (IACA) as well as applicable DOI policies.

The facility includes approximately 600–650 sq ft of retail area, a courtyard, and two storage rooms (305 and 114 sq ft). No franchise fee or revenue-sharing payment to the DOI is required from the concessionaire, who is expected to generate sufficient revenue independently to support ongoing operations.

Period of Performance
The proposed concession contract will last for 5 years with an option for a renewal period of an additional 5 years based on performance.

The contract will be performed at the Indian Art and Craft Shop located at 1849 C Street, NW, Washington, DC.
