BLM Library Moving Services   2

Background
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is seeking moving services for the relocation of the BLM Library from the Denver Federal Center Building 50 to Buildings 85 and 41. The library materials include various types of items such as books, atlases, maps, photographs, sound recordings, DVDs, CDs, rare and historical materials, reference texts, scientific and professional journals, and microfiche. The contractor is required to have experience with the Library of Congress classification system and ensure proper packing and reshelving of the materials. Additionally, the contractor will be responsible for moving librarian work cubicles and miscellaneous filing cabinets.

Work Details
The contractor is required to provide a project manager with library move experience who will oversee the packing, moving, and unloading of library materials. Movers must have experience with the Library of Congress classification system and ensure proper reshelving and placement of materials. Special care must be taken with fragile items in the 'Chill Room' collection.

The contractor is also responsible for pre and post-move walk-throughs with library staff to confirm proper reshelving of materials and determine any damage to the collection. Additionally, the contractor must furnish all packing/moving containers/carts and related supplies including security bins, carts, totes, zip ties, and color-coded marking tags.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract is from August 7, 2023, through September 30, 2023.

Place of Performance
The relocation services will take place at the Denver Federal Center Building 50, Building 85, and Building 41 in Denver, Colorado.
