Description

The Contractor shall provide Quantum ActiveScale storage system and provide staff for on-site support and replacement efforts that are able to work in and be escorted into secure federal facilities, in this case Building 35 PNRC Server Room where the NEI Activescale deployment exists.

Background
The National Institutes of Health (NIH), specifically the National Eye Institute (NEI), is seeking to expand its Quantum ActiveScale storage system, which serves as a backup target for its Scientific Data Storage (SDS) system.

The goal of this contract is to enhance storage capacity to meet the increasing demands of data backup and ensure minimal disruption during service outages.

Work Details
The Contractor shall provide an additional 1.1 petabytes of storage capacity, including physical storage components such as shelves and drives, along with necessary interconnects.

This expansion aims to maximize the storage capacity of the primary backup SDS system, ensuring it can fully back up the production system and expedite recovery in case of unplanned outages. Responsibilities include: delivering expansion hardware and interconnects; bringing new hardware online; diagnosing and replacing failed components such as disk drives, IOM modules, cabling interconnects, power supplies, backplanes, and chassis; reviewing auto support logs for problematic components; and facilitating quick responses for replacement components.

The Contractor must also provide on-site support staff capable of working in secure federal facilities.
