Durable Medical Equipment Services - Montana VA Healthcare System   3

Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is issuing this solicitation for Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Services for the Montana VA Health Care System. The mission of the VA is to provide high-quality healthcare services to veterans, and this contract aims to enhance their ability to deliver necessary medical equipment and services to veterans in Montana.

The goal of this contract is to ensure timely and efficient delivery, setup, and maintenance of DME, thereby improving the quality of care provided to veterans.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide a range of services including: pick-up, delivery, repair, storage, assembly, setup, and training for safe operation and maintenance of various DME items such as hospital beds, wheelchairs, and other mobility aids. Specific tasks include:
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable wages and hours laws.
- Providing all necessary equipment and transportation for service delivery.
- Maintaining Joint Commission (JC) accreditation or equivalent standards throughout the contract duration.
- Delivering/picking up equipment within 2 business days of notification.
- Scheduling deliveries between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with exceptions for emergencies.
- Documenting all service refusals by veterans and notifying the VA Prosthetics department promptly.
- Ensuring proper assembly and setup of equipment at veteran residences while removing all packing materials post-delivery.

Period of Performance
The desired period of performance for this contract is from September 1, 2025 through August 31, 2030.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed primarily within the geographic regions served by the Montana VA Health Care System, covering multiple counties across Montana.
