Perfusionist Service   3

Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is issuing a solicitation for Perfusion Services to be provided onsite at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center. The goal of this contract is to ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive high-quality perfusion services that meet or exceed national standards as established by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion. This procurement is set aside 100% for Veteran-Owned Small Business concerns.

Work Details
The Contractor shall provide onsite Perfusion Services to eligible beneficiaries of the Department of Veterans Affairs, covering a range of perfusion services typically offered in a state-of-the-art civilian medical treatment facility. Key responsibilities include:

1. Providing care during cardiac surgeries, including preparation and operation of heart-lung machines, maintaining sterile environments, and ensuring patient safety.

2. Staffing requirements include a minimum of four key personnel: 1 Chief Perfusionist, 2 Staff Perfusionists, and 1 PRN Perfusionist.

3. All personnel must be board certified with at least five years of experience and must maintain current licenses and certifications.

4. Participation in continuous quality improvement activities and compliance with all VA policies regarding patient safety and infection control.

5. Documentation of all procedures in the electronic health record system within specified timeframes.

Period of Performance
The contract period will commence on February 16, 2025, and continue through February 15, 2030, with options for renewal for up to four additional years.

Services will be performed onsite at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center located at 10701 East Blvd, Cleveland, OH 44106.
