Background
The solicitation is for Psychiatry Physician Services at the VA North Texas Veterans Healthcare System (VANTHCS) and is issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs. The purpose of the contract is to provide on-site Psychiatry Physician Services for eligible beneficiaries of the VANTHCS, meeting or exceeding national standards set by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Work Details
The contractor is required to provide four full-time, FTE Board Certified Psychiatrists to perform services at various locations within VANTHCS, including inpatient medical units, emergency department, and outpatient clinics. The services include comprehensive psychiatric evaluation/assessments, ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, providing ongoing care, prescribing medications, health promotion, disease prevention, education and counseling of patients and families, crisis intervention, coordination of admissions, and overseeing and assisting PAs/NPs as needed.
The contract also involves specialized CPRS documentation procedures and compliance with patient safety standards.

Period of Performance
The base period of performance for the contract is from August 15, 2023, to August 14, 2024. There are also options for extension up to four years for a maximum possible duration of five years.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at various locations within VANTHCS including Dallas VA Medical Center (VAMC), Fort Worth VA Clinic (FWOPC), ten Outpatient Clinics (CBOC), and three Medical Centers.
