Description

Medical Hazardous Compounding
Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically the Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System, has a requirement for compounding hazardous chemotherapy agents for its Biloxi, MS and Pensacola, FL locations. This contract aims to provide necessary chemotherapy treatments to Veterans diagnosed with specific medical conditions.

The Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System serves approximately 7-9 patients daily at each site for chemotherapy infusion, necessitating compliance with FDA and state regulations regarding compounding services.

Work Details
The Contractor shall provide Pharmacy Hazardous Compounding Services including:
1. All chemotherapy agents, IV tubing, and other necessary items.
2. Aseptic compounding of hazardous chemotherapy agents based on patient-specific orders submitted via secure network or fax.
3. Confirmation of order receipt by VA staff via phone or email.
4. Timely transportation of compounded orders to designated locations in Biloxi and Pensacola before infusion dates/times.
5. Compliance with USP <797> and USP <800> standards for compounding, labeling, and expiration dating.
6. Provision of current certification reports for sterile compounding areas and action plans for any deficiencies.
7. Delivery specifications including shipping arrangements for weekend deliveries without additional costs.
8. Maintenance of certifications required for compounding services and annual updates to the VHA PBM Assessment Guide.

Period of Performance
Base Period: October 1, 2024, through September 30, 2025; with four option periods extending through September 30, 2029.

Place of Performance
Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System locations in Biloxi, MS and Pensacola, FL.
