Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking to procure Medical Technologist and Technician Services to support the Tennessee Valley Healthcare System (TVHS). The goal of this contract is to ensure adequate staffing for laboratory services at both the Nashville and Alvin C. York campuses, thereby enhancing the quality of care provided to veterans. The contractor will be responsible for providing certified medical technologists and technicians who can perform essential laboratory tests and procedures.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide American Medical Technologist (AMT) or American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certified Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist Services on-site. Key tasks include:
- Covering 80 hours per pay-period during off-tour shifts at Nashville campus and day shifts at Alvin C. York campus.
- Performing stat and routine testing in areas such as specimen processing, hematology, chemistry, coagulation, urinalysis, basic microbiology, and blood bank.
- Conducting patient/unit blood compatibility testing and issuing compatible blood products as required.
- Ensuring adequate coverage from 3:30 PM to 7:00 AM at Nashville campus, with weekend and holiday coverage on an alternating basis.
- Adhering to VA policies and directives regarding credentialing, training, infection control, and patient safety.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence on November 20, 2024, with a base period ending on November 19, 2025. There are options for additional periods extending through November 19, 2029.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at the Nashville VA Medical Center located at 1310 24th Avenue South, Nashville, TN 37212-2637
and the Alvin C. York Veterans’ Administration Medical Center located at 3400 Lebanon Pike, Murfreesboro, TN 37129-1237.
