Background
The VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System (VAAAHS) is seeking a contractor to provide specialized fungal reference laboratory testing services for its patients. This contract aims to support the healthcare needs of veterans by ensuring access to necessary laboratory tests that are not performed in-house due to low volume or specialized equipment requirements.

The contract includes a base year with four additional option years, emphasizing the importance of high-quality care and efficient service delivery.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide reference laboratory testing for specialized fungal testing for patients of the VAAAHS and Toledo Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC). The services include:
1. Providing a varied test menu based on clinician orders, including antigen and antibody detection tests for various fungi.
2. Receiving laboratory specimens from VAAAHS and Toledo CBOC, packaging them for transport via UPS, and ensuring timely delivery to the testing facility.
3. Supplying specialized specimen collection tubes, shipping kits, transport request forms, and instructions for VAAAHS personnel.
4. Offering courier and flight services for specimen transportation while maintaining specimen integrity.
5. Providing monthly reports detailing tests ordered, unsatisfactory specimens, costs, and tests performed.
6. Ensuring timely reporting of test results within specified timeframes and notifying the facility of any critical values within two hours.
