Q301 Reference Laboratory Testing for Seattle VA Medical Center   2

Background
The VA Puget Sound Health Care System (VAPSHCS) Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service (PLMS) requires analytical testing, surgical pathology, cytology, and microbiology reference lab services.

This full-service reference lab services requirement will provide testing supplies, customer service, courier services, interfaced lab result reporting services, and verification of certification for test results. The goal is to ensure accurate and timely test results are available to VAPSHCS healthcare providers, thereby ensuring high-quality healthcare for the Veterans they serve.

Work Details
The Reference Laboratory shall provide all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, laws, and ordinances for accreditation certification and patient specimen testing. Services include:
- Analytical Testing: Performance of analytical testing as defined by the Laboratory's reference test manual; reporting of analytical test results; consultative services; pre-analytic processing; analysis; reporting of analytic results; interpretation of clinical results.
- Support Services: Provision of supplies (requisition forms, specimen containers, dry ice), customer service, courier service (pickup and transport of specimens), reporting services, and verification of certification.
- Microbiology Services: Pickup and transport of specimens; pre-analytic processing; analysis; reporting of analytic results within specified turnaround times.
- Surgical Pathology/Cytopathology: Technical processing for surgical pathology specimens with returns within 24 hours for professional interpretation.
- Electronic Interface: Transition period for data exchange between VISTA and the Reference Laboratory's electronic lab information system with compliance to HIPAA guidelines.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed from November 1, 2025 to October 31, 2030.
