Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking to procure Diagnostic Medical Physicist Services for radiation oncology at the Overton Brooks VA Medical Center (OBVAMC) in Shreveport, LA. The goal of this contract is to ensure the safety and effectiveness of diagnostic x-ray and imaging equipment through comprehensive quality assurance testing and support for the Radiation Safety Office.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all personnel, transportation, equipment, and software necessary to perform the following tasks:

1. Review OBVAMC's overall technical quality assurance program for diagnostic x-ray and imaging equipment.

2. Conduct annual quality assurance testing of all diagnostic x-ray and imaging equipment.

3. Perform required physics testing following repairs that could affect patient dosimetry or image quality.

4. Develop structural shielding design plans for new diagnostic x-ray equipment as needed.

5. Conduct radiation protection surveys to verify installed shielding adequacy for new or refurbished rooms or equipment.

6. Perform initial installation quality assurance testing of new diagnostic x-ray and imaging equipment as needed.

7. Attend relevant OBVAMC committee meetings quarterly or as needed, providing reports as required.

8. Review staff dosimetry monitoring results and Nuclear Medicine records as mandated by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).

9. Provide written reports documenting shielding design calculations and acceptance testing within thirty days of completion of work, including details on noncompliance issues and recommendations for corrections.

Period of Performance
January 1, 2026 to December 31, 2030, with five (5) twelve-month ordering periods.
