Durable Medical Equipment - VA Maryland Health Care System   2

Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is issuing this solicitation for Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and related services to support the VA Maryland Health Care System. The goal of the contract is to provide necessary medical equipment and services to veterans, ensuring their health care needs are met effectively and efficiently.

This contract aims to enhance the quality of care provided to veterans by ensuring timely delivery and setup of medical equipment at their residences.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and services as outlined in the Performance Work Statement (PWS). Responsibilities include:
1. Delivery, setup, and pickup of DME including but not limited to hospital beds, mattresses, patient lifters, and telehealth items.
2. Compliance with applicable wages and hours laws.
3. Providing instructions to veterans or caregivers on the use and care of the equipment, including safety protocols.
4. Maintaining a local stock of VA-owned items covered by this solicitation.
5. Conducting troubleshooting for telehealth items as needed.
6. Developing an Emergency Preparedness Plan to ensure continuity of services during emergencies.
7. Implementing a Quality Assurance program to monitor service quality and compliance with standards set by The Joint Commission.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract will be from April 1, 2025 through March 31, 2030.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at various locations within the state of Maryland, specifically serving beneficiaries from Baltimore VAMC, Perry Point VAMC, and Loch Raven VA Community and Rehabilitation Center.
