Regional Medical Consultant for Region 07

Background
The Social Security Administration (SSA) is issuing a solicitation for 41 Regional Medical Consultants (RMC) under a five-year Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) in Region 7, Kansas City. The goal is to enhance the SSA's disability determination process by leveraging medical expertise.

Work Details
Contractors are required to perform tasks involving computer use, including email communication, research, document creation, and spreadsheet management. They must demonstrate knowledge of computing concepts, operating system functions, secure computer usage, and common software applications.

Specific tasks include managing files and folders, checking for internet hoaxes, handling multiple passwords, using word processing and spreadsheet programs, navigating websites, managing emails, conducting internet searches, adapting to changes in SSA systems, and using various computer hardware items.

Contractors must notify the COR of absences exceeding three days in advance and respond promptly to communications during workdays. They must complete second reviews before new cases and maintain a substantive accuracy rate of 90.6%, with quality monitored through internal QA reviews and feedback from SSA components. Contractors are required to submit invoices electronically via N-MCTS by the 5th calendar day following the month of completed work and complete SSA-mandated training timely.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a period from March 1, 2021 to February 28, 2026.

Place of Performance
The primary place of performance is the Kansas City Region, specifically at the Richard Bolling Federal Building in Kansas City, Missouri. Services may also be performed at alternate work locations approved by the CO or COR.
