Purchase of Methylation Custom Probes for sequencing

Background
The National Institutes of Health (NIH), specifically the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), is seeking to acquire Custom Probes from Twist Bioscience to support ongoing research in epigenetics, mitochondrial biology, and metabolism.

The goal of this contract is to enhance the institute's capabilities in studying the rat epigenome, which is currently limited due to a lack of appropriate equipment. This acquisition aims to provide a cost-effective solution for profiling DNA methylation and facilitate translational studies and biomarker discovery in rat models.

Work Details
The contractor will provide Twist Bioscience Methylation Custom Probes that support reproducible sequencing of methylation markers across various sample types.

The probes will enable targeted interrogation of methylation patterns in specific regions, addressing gaps in commercially available solutions for rat genome methylation. The system features a flexible and customizable panel design that allows for efficient target enrichment and sensitive sequencing, thereby supporting the NIEHS's research objectives more effectively than in-house sequencing methods.
