Purchase of a Qiagen EZ2 Connect MDx

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Qiagen, for the EZ2 Connect MDx extraction system. The National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases (NCEZID) requires the contractor and/or system to provide:

1. A fully automated clinical nucleic acid extraction system that can scalable extract 1 to 24 samples which is intended for professional users to purify nucleic acids from biological samples for in vitro diagnostic purposes.
2. Program requires an additional (in-vitro diagnostic) IVD sample preparation system for DNA isolation to support work being performed in the Laboratory Assay Readiness (LASR) Validation Laboratory.

This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) and 41 USC 3304(a)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals.

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received prior to the date and time below will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
