Pulsed Ultraviolet (200 nm < λ < 210 nm) Light Source   2

ID: AMD-SS24-05 • Type: Sources Sought

Description

NIST is seeking information from vendors capable of providing a tabletop pulsed ultraviolet light (UV) source with center wavelength in the range 200 nm < < 210 nm. The light source is intended to be integrated into an atom probe tomography (APT) instrument to serve as the ionization trigger event. The integration of the UV light source into the APT instrument is related to NIST's goal of improving nanoscale metrology techniques with direct applications to domestic semiconductor manufacturing processes.

The light source system will be installed on the Boulder, CO campus. The contractor shall furnish the necessary personnel, material, equipment, and services to fabricate, install, and test the complete light source system. The contractor shall provide training at the time of installation and the complete systems must be fully integrated, serviced, and warrantied by the single offeror.

Provide information regarding the following specifications:

Pulsed Light Source:

Specifications:

  1. The center wavelength of the light source shall be in the range: 200 nm < < 210 nm
    1. Please comment on spectrum of the light source
    2. If the light source is broadband, please comment on the possibility of including a monochromator (and what the transmitted flux would be)
  2. The light source shall have a repetition rate in the range: 50 kHz to 200 kHz
    1. Please comment on the available repetition rate range
    2. Please comment on what (if anything) happens to the pulse energy, pulse duration, and pulse spectrum as the repetition rate is adjusted
  3. The light source shall have a pulse duration (full width at half maximum) less than 1 ns
    1. Please comment on the pulse duration
  4. The light source shall provide a pulse energy of at least 100 nJ
    1. Please comment on the available pulse energy and if it can be adjusted
  5. The light source shall be collimated
  6. The light source shall have flux stability better than 20 % RMS over 8 hours after warmup
    1. Please comment on the long-term stability of the system and frequency with which alignments must be made
    2. Please comment on the expected pointing stability of the light source
  7. The light source shall fit on an optical table with approximate dimensions of 5' x 11'

Interested parties shall describe the capabilities of their organization as it relates to the requirement described above.

US manufacturers of same or similar items are encouraged to respond.
