Background
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Mission in Jordan is considering to award a new contract that will work to improve the fiscal stability and public financial management (PFM) in Jordan. The goal of the five-year Public Financial Management and Administration Activity (PFMA) is to improve public financial management in Jordan. PFMA will help improve the performance and efficiency of the Jordanian revenue system and will enhance the budget management process. This will be achieved by building the capacity of the Jordanian Ministry of Finance (MoF) and other institutions to modernize the revenue system, encourage compliance, ease taxpayer ability to comply with tax obligations, improve budget planning, preparation and execution, and enhance the public procurement management. The activity will contribute to increased economic stability within the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

Work Details
The work details include improving revenue raising systems, streamlining efficient budget management processes, optimizing public expenditure management, supporting emerging GoJ priorities, strengthening fiscal sustainability of the GoJ, reducing obstacles to economic growth in Jordan, building the capacity of the GoJ to manage the economy, improving performance of revenue administration, ensuring proper and transparent budget management and public procurement process. The activity aims to achieve macroeconomic stability by decreasing the gap between spending and revenues, enhance revenue performance by improving tax efficiency and capacity to establish effective tax policies and administrative systems, improve allocation of public resources and achieve efficiency of resource utilization and effectiveness of public service delivery.
