C.1 Project Title : PSL, Cell 9, Shielded Wiring for Electrified Powertrain Testing

C.2 Objectives: Electrified power train components and electrified propulsion continue to be developed and tested by the US Army, Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC), Ground Vehicle Power and Mobility (GVPM), Propulsion Systems Laboratory (PSL) facility. The electrified propulsion technologies under development emit an Electromagnet Interference (EMI) that can be disruptive to the accuracy and control of the existing Data Acquisition (DAQ) equipment. The existing DAQ equipment typically uses wiring and cables compatible with the low EMI interference generated from the testing of conventional mechanical propulsion systems. New multi-strand wires and cables which are shielded and grounded, specialized probes, and EMI protective jackets are required to accurately test and collect data while testing electrified propulsion technologies. Currently, GVPM cell 9 is the only test cell capable of performing the critical full load cooling test on an Abrams class vehicle. Cell 9 requires the stated new EMI protected laboratory equipment if full load cooling testing is to be performed on an electrified Abrams. It is envisioned that the new EMI protected laboratory equipment may also be used in GVPM test cells 2, 4, 5, and the Electrical Components Laboratory (ECL) which are also transitioning towards the development and testing of highly electrified propulsion components, powerpacks, and full vehicles. Background
The US Army, Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC), Ground Vehicle Power and Mobility (GVPM), Propulsion Systems Laboratory (PSL) facility is developing and testing electrified power train components and electrified propulsion technologies. The electrified propulsion technologies emit Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) that can disrupt the accuracy and control of existing Data Acquisition (DAQ) equipment. New multi-strand wires and cables which are shielded and grounded, specialized probes, EMI protective jackets, and a reel rack storage system are required for accurate testing and data collection. The contract is a Small Business Set-Aside.

Work Details
The contractor shall procure and deliver the following items to the US Army, GVSC, GVPM, PSL facility:
- Wires: Belden MULTI-PAIR 18COND 22AWG wire (BEL1856-100-ND), Belden MULTI-PAIR 12COND 20AWG wire (BEL1887-100-ND), Alpha Wire MULTI-PAIR 16COND 20AWG wire (78248SL005-100-ND), Belden MULTI-PAIR 4CON 20AWG CHROM wire (BEL1386-500-ND), Belden CABLE 2CON 20AWG CHROME SHLD wire (BEL1121-500-ND), Belden CABLE MULTI-PAIR 4COND 22AWG (BEL1373-1000-ND), Belden MULTI-PAIR 6COND 22AWG (BEL1376-1000-ND).
- Cable: Champlain Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Battery Cable in various sizes.
- Resistance Temperature Device (RTD) Probes: Military grade RTD probes.
- EMI Shielding Jackets: Zippertubing EMI Shielding Jackets in various diameters.
- Reel Rack Storage System: A high-strength, high-capacity, wire, cable, and shielding jacket rack system.
All items shall be delivered to U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command in Warren, Michigan.

Period of Performance
The delivery date for the items is August 29, 2024.

Place of Performance
The products will be delivered to U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command in Warren, Michigan.
