Background
The Federal Protective Service (FPS) Acquisitions Division is issuing a sole source extension of up to two months for the existing indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract, 70RFP218DEC000002, with Paragon Systems, Inc. This extension is necessary to continue protective security officer services in the Washington, DC area while the follow-on contract is being awarded and transitioned. The FPS is responsible for protecting federal facilities and ensuring the safety of personnel and visitors.

Work Details
The tasks under this contract include providing Armed Protective Security Officer (PSO) services at two sites in Washington, DC (DC1476 and DC1477). The Statement of Work requires continuous coverage for breaks at all posts, including Supervisory PSO posts. The incumbent contractor, Paragon Systems, Inc., is familiar with the requirements and facility locations.

Due to extensive screening, training, health, licensing, and transition requirements for Armed PSOs under the FPS program, it is critical that there be no interruption in service during the transition to the follow-on contract. The follow-on requirement is in its final stages of being awarded with an anticipated performance start date on or before October 1, 2025. A minimum 30-day transition period will be required post-award to ensure that the new contractor can meet all necessary qualifications and begin service without delay.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this extension will last up to two months from the current contract expiration date of July 31, 2025.
