Background
The Minneapolis Department of Veteran’s Affairs (VA) Medical Center (VAMC) is undertaking the Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) project to enhance the infrastructure of the Main Computer Room (MCR) located in Building 70.

The primary goal of this contract is to consolidate and renovate existing Data Center Spaces within Building 70, specifically Rooms 2B-105 and BH-111, ensuring a seamless transition without network downtime.

Work Details
The contractor is required to provide all labor, tools, equipment, and materials necessary for the completion of the project. Key tasks include:

1. Lock out/Tag out all sources of energy (Electric, Gas, Water, etc.) prior to any digging or demolition work.
2. Installation of new Information Technology (IT) equipment enclosures including racks and cabinets as per construction documents.
3. Implementation of new cold aisle containment along with Rack Power Distribution Units.
4. Installation of new power distribution systems to the MCR and enclosures, including cable management solutions.
5. Provision of structured cabling that complies with Infrastructure Standards for Telecommunications Spaces (ISTS).
6. Installation of structured cabling in the data center and termination of the existing campus fiber backbone in new fiber racks.
7. Creation of new redundant Medical Distribution Areas (MDAs) for A/B fiber paths to facilitate MCR renovations.
8. Updating the data center layout and power distribution systems.
9. Providing underfloor raceway feeds from Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) “A” and “B” as indicated in construction documents.
10. Executing a phased transfer of critical power to new redundant UPS systems already provided under a previous EHRM contract.
11. Installing additional raised floor shoring/structural supports at UPS locations along with support for a Novec gas fire suppression system, extending the existing wet pipe fire suppression system in Building 70 to serve the renovated space.

The construction projects will be performed at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center located in Minneapolis, MN.
