The BLSA is a long-term study initiated in 1958 that evaluates changes in medical, physiological, cognitive, and physical functions across the adult lifespan. The goal of this contract is to obtain methodological and technical expertise in processing various imaging modalities to support ongoing research related to cognitive and motor functions.

Work Details
The contractor will provide image processing services that include:
1. Retrieving and co-registering brain imaging data into a common coordinate system;
2. Applying validated image processing tools to define gray matter regions of interest, perform DTI pre-processing, define white matter tracts, and conduct rs-fMRI pre-processing;
3. Generating tables of means and standard deviations for rs-fMRI, FA, and MD;
4. Implementing mass-univariate temporal modeling and characterizing temporal inference through simulations;
5. Executing structural-functional-covariate analysis using general linear models;
6. Performing segmentation and quantification of regions of interest in thigh MRI and CT images;
7. Supporting method translation to NIA researchers by providing documentation and assisting with software implementation.
