RELATED NOTICE: N0001921R0051

Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) awarded a Contract, N00019-22-C-0033, to General Atomics (GA), San Diego, California (CA) for the procurement of non-recurring engineering and program management services in support the Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS) and Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG) System for the CVN 81 aircraft carrier, minus Energy Storage Subsystem. Specifically, this contract provides for the evaluation, production, manufacture, assembly, integration and test of engineering changes to product hardware, software, technical data, and logistics products throughout the configuration management process associated with the EMALS and AAG System for the CVN 81 aircraft carrier, minus the Energy Storage Subsystem. The period of performance of this Contract is from 01 January 2022 to 30 December 2023.

GA is the original designer, developer and manufacturer of the EMALS and AAG system. GA is the sole designer and developer of both the EMALS and AAG systems. GA is the only company with the technical expertise, technical data and in-depth knowledge of both systems to provide the supplies and services that are critical to support the CVN 81 production schedule and satisfy the USN's requirements.

The awarded contract is for the supplies or services for which the Government solicited and negotiated with only one source under the authority of Title 10, U.S. Code 2304 (c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source', and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
