Pond Dewatering   2

Background
The contract involves the partial dewatering of the Fire Water Retention Pond (FWRP) at Fairchild AFB, WA. The dewatering is necessary to prevent overflow of the pond onto surrounding permeable surfaces due to high levels of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in the water, which pose environmental and human health hazards. A total of 315,000 gallons of water (+/- 5%) must be removed from the pond to ensure space for annual rainfall and water pumping from the fire trainer.

Work Details
The contractor is required to provide all equipment, materials, and labor necessary to pump, hold, sample, filter, and dewater the FWRP. This includes three core tasks: 1) sampling the FWRP prior to filtering to determine necessary filtration; 2) mobilization/demobilization of assets; 3) pumping, sampling, holding, testing, filtering, and discharge of ~315,000 gallons of water. The contractor must also furnish all reports, manifests, flow rates, sampling reports, and other data-bearing paperwork developed during the performance of the contract.

The services shall be performed at Fairchild Air Force Base (FAFB), WA.
