Background
The US Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District is planning for the construction of two Special Operation Forces (SOF) Company Operations Facilities at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. The goal of the contract is to provide facilities that support the operations and readiness of SOF units, adhering to Department of Defense principles for high performance and sustainable building requirements.

Work Details
The project involves the construction of two facilities totaling 30,326 square feet, which will include: company administrative areas, readiness modules with multi-purpose rooms, team rooms with instructor space, company supply areas, secure storage for non-sensitive items, and unit storage.

Key construction tasks include: providing fire alarm/mass notification systems; fire suppression systems; advanced unclassified and classified communications networks; intercom systems; closed circuit surveillance and electronic access control systems; integrated commercial intrusion detection systems; cable TV; a protected distribution system; and connection to an energy management control system.

The construction will consist of a concrete foundation and floor slab with a metal frame and masonry structure. Supporting facilities will include utilities (electrical, water, sanitary sewer), lighting, vehicle parking, access roads, storm drainage, landscaping, area fencing, and other site improvements. The project also includes comprehensive interior design services and audio-visual services. Additionally, measures will be taken to meet the DoD Minimum Antiterrorism for Buildings standards. The scope includes the demolition and disposal of a temporary building (#T-2464) within the construction footprint.
