The Request for Information (RFI) is issued solely for information and planning purposes.
The purpose of this RFI is obtain proposed architectural information that provides Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) with an implementable solution that will facilitate the authentication and verification of accredited PIV smart cards issued by All US Government Agencies and recognized Commercial entities for non-governmental personnel.

The solution should provide minimal modifications to the current Information Technology operating environment and provide a highly available process supporting the CBP and DHS missions. It also must have sufficient resources to eliminate any impact to current computer logon and authentication times.

Responses should contain detailed architecture and integration points with existing CBP and DHS elements and any modifications necessary to CBP and DHS processes. Additionally, a Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) and any Bill of Materials required for the solution.
